Are you having a problem with your home phone service? show me

1 - You may be able to troubleshoot some common problems yourself, such as static on the line or no dial tone. For instructions, choose your problem from the list:

If you have no dial tone, try the following before reporting the problem:

  • Make sure all your phones are on hung up and connected properly.
  • Try your phone in another jack or at a neighbour's house.
  • If possible, try another phone (preferably not a cordless phone as they can pick up interference, even when not in use)
  • Unplug all your equipment from the jacks on that phone line and try one phone on its own on the line (this ensures no other equipment is causing the problem).

If your phones aren't the problem, then it's likely the Bell network or the wiring inside your home. To determine where the problem lies, you will need to test your line at the demarcation point inside the network interface device.
