Canada's transition to digital television

On August 31, 2011, the Government of Canada will require the Canadian television industry to convert TV signals from analog to digital. If you are currently receiving TV signals by satellite or cable, you will not be affected by the transition.

If you receive analog TV signals using a rooftop antenna or "rabbit ears", you'll need to choose one of the following options to continue watching your favourite shows:

A digital TV converter allows analog televisions to receive and process digital signals. You'll need to buy a digital TV converter for each television that receives analog TV signals. Or, you can buy a new television that comes with a built-in digital tuner.
