Our Connection card series eliminates the frustrations of getting connected outside the office, giving you quick and easy wireless laptop access to the Internet from practically anywhere, plus simple management of your connections with Mobile Connect software. Our series features:

Incredible speeds

Anyone can benefit from the incredible speeds provided by our connection cards on Canada's fastest high-speed mobile network. With high peak download and upload speeds, you can connect wirelessly to your corporate Virtual Private Network (VPN), exchange files with colleagues, run network applications or just visit your favourite Web sites, as quickly as you do from the office.

Compact and durable device options

Compatible with most laptops, there are three device options:

  • PC card (fits into any Type II PC card slot)
  • ExpressCard (fits into any ExpressCard 24/54 slot)
  • USB modem

The approximate size of a business card, the PC card and the ExpressCard® both feature a folding antenna that rests flush against the card casing for greater portability and protection. The USB modem is also slim, portable and compatible with any USB port.

Simple management of your connections with Mobile Connect

Our Connection cards use Mobile Connect software from Bell for quick and easy management of your wireless connections from your laptop. Features such as automatic VPN and quick launch onscreen buttons save you time. Simple, step-by-step instructions lead you through the software installation process and device setup, eliminating the need for IT involvement.

Exceptional service

With our new Repair Tracking and Inventory System (RTIS), if your wireless device ever becomes damaged, RTIS can provide fast repairs, convenient online tracking, and replacement or loaner devices by the next business day. This is just one more example of how Bell is working hard to help your business do more things in more places.

New Geographic Information System (GIS) mapping functionality enhances Rapid Response Management Solution from Bell

Imagine you are a municipal official in a city that has just experienced a major water main breakage. How would you rapidly mobilize repair crews and notify transit corporations and affected citizens, businesses and institutions? How would you effectively communicate alerts and procedures? What is the fastest way to do that? With the GIS Mapper, combined with mass notification services, company officials, crisis management teams, and customer service departments would be enabled to quickly send out targeted notifications to the right people – in a very quick timeframe.

The fact is that GIS has limitless potential applications and can be put to good use in any type of organization.

Giving you what you need

The Rapid Response Management Solution from Bell combines GIS mapping capabilities with our mass notification, crisis management and employee roll call service offering. Organization-specific data, such as the location of company sites and facilities, is geo-coded into the application. These data are then combined with the stakeholder database (e.g. employees, customers, vendors, citizens, etc.) to enable mass broadcasts or roll calls to geographically targeted groups.

Customers can use the service for emergency purposes and also for daily notifications when time-sensitive information needs to be communicated quickly and when confirmation of receipt is required. The use of multiple communications methods, including wired and wireless phones, PDAs, email, and pagers ensures that notifications are delivered reliably, through all available channels.

This new enhancement empowers organizations to:

  • Send geographically targeted communications
  • Communicate quickly with people who live or work within a specific geographic area
  • Communicate hazards, potential threats and other safety information
  • Offer enhanced customer service by keeping customers informed of service interruptions
  • Conduct an employee roll call based on a geographic territory

The technology that powers GIS Mapper was recently recognized by Gartner as the market dominant public safety GIS technology, receiving the highest rating among all reviewed providers¹ .

How the solution works

  • Select the target area
  • Select the groups you would like to notify
  • Launch mass notifications directly to wired and wireless phones, PDAs, email and fax

About the solution

Offered as an on-demand, web-based subscription service, the Rapid Response Management Solution is composed of crisis management software, database management and Bell 's Voice Select platform. In addition to the newly-launched GIS Mapper, customers can choose from six other integrated modules:

  • Messenger – mass notification and targeted alerts
  • Crisis Manager – incident and event management
  • Roll Call – automated tracking of employees and on-site guests
  • Hotline – inbound telephone emergency hotline
  • HotDocs – crisis-related document storage
  • Personal Communicator – friends and family emergency notification

Supporting your collaboration requirements with Enterprise Workflow Management

While collaboration applications add a new level of needed capability to your communications environment, they can also introduce an additional level of management complexity. Next generation collaboration solutions place an even greater demand on the underlying LAN/WAN network, hardware, support team and processes to work in synch to deliver a satisfactory end user experience.

EWM can help

When an incident, such as latency or device failure, occurs in the collaborative environment, the negative impact is visible and far-reaching, as it may affect multiple users, potentially disrupting in-progress video or voice conferences, shared whiteboards and document sharing facilities.

As well, changes within the infrastructure, such as those generated by a new hire or an office move, are expected to be executed quickly and seamlessly to allow your collaboration capability to extend to this broader working environment.

A comprehensive support solution consisting of the right combination of management tools, skill sets and processes is needed to ensure that both issues and change can be managed effectively in this new environment.

Enterprise Workflow Management (EWM) from Bell provides that support. EWM is an ITIL-based, IT service management solution that can help support your evolving collaboration requirements and meet these challenges. We take IT asset management to the next level by building in business-critical workflows to provide effective and consistent support services, not only for your collaboration needs, but for your communications environment in general.

What we do

Our EWM professional services team works closely with you to identify assets to be managed as part of supporting your overall collaboration solution. This includes but is not limited to an inventory of voice services, data services, cabling and equipment from a variety of providers in a consolidated data repository.

We then work with you to identify and implement the critical support workflows needed to ensure that issues and change impacting the delivery of collaboration services to the end user are addressed in a timely manner.

Finally, the service catalogue and the corresponding service level agreements – whether internally delivered, from third parties or from Bell – are finalized. Moving forward, the managed service component of EWM services and manages these IT assets within your infrastructure on a monthly basis, together with monthly performance reports and billing detail.

Why Bell?

EWM emphasizes and extends on our core competencies in IT support services and expertise in the area of network, cabling and end user equipment management, and leverages more than 10 years of experience in the business of managed and outsourced IT services. EWM leverages industry leading components that enable us to provide a robust, modern and scalable solution, and complements a corporate commitment to ITIL with deep expertise within our EWM professional services and implementation teams.
